Webinar. Ocean Accounts and Marine Spatial Planning: mapping seagrass from local to global scales

Webinar. Ocean Accounts and Marine Spatial Planning: mapping seagrass from local to global scales

19 November 2025, 4-5 PM AEST

Mapping is an essential tool for visualising and compiling extent and condition accounts for marine ecosystems including seagrass, mangroves and coral reefs. Machine learning methods, combined with earth observation data, can provide a powerful tool to efficiently map large ecosystem areas.

This webinar will introduce how these techniques can support ocean accounts and environmental economic accounting by providing spatially explicit seagrass extent and condition data.
